What the 400 4MATIC electric Electric AT costs on the road

The price above is ex-showroom. With road tax, registration and the rest of the charges counted in, the 400 4MATIC electric Electric AT comes to ₹79,54,155 on the road in Aizawl and ₹90,53,155 in Guwahati.

Road tax is set by the state rather than by the maker, so where you register decides ₹10,99,000 of what you pay for the identical car. Of the 17 states we can price this variant in, 7 of them are level at the lowest, and Assam comes out highest. You pay it where you live, so take this as a reason to check the quote you were given, not as a way to save money.

Comprehensive own-damage cover is on top of both figures: it has been market-priced since 2007 and moves with the insurer, the cover value and your no-claim bonus, so no honest single number exists for it. Budget for it from real quotes.

The full story

The GLC Electric keeps it simple: one variant, ₹78.50L ex-showroom. 400 4MATIC electric is sold this one way, as the Electric single-speed automatic. There is no trim above 400 4MATIC electric: money spent past this point buys powertrain, not equipment.

More about the 400 4MATIC electric trim

The only electric GLC, and Mercedes has priced it almost level with the petrol and diesel ones: Rs 1.50 lakh over the 300 4MATIC, Rs 50,000 over the 220d. For that you get two motors and 489 PS, a 94 kWh battery good for 711 km on the WLTP test, the full-width MBUX Hyperscreen, DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, Burmester 3D sound, heated and massaging front seats and the AMG Line look. What you give up against the diesel is a spare wheel (it carries a repair kit), and the India car does without the air suspension and rear steering sold abroad.
