The data this site runs on, yours to use. 126 models, 1,098 variants, and the road tax tables for 25 states, exported in the same build that renders these pages, so the files cannot lag the site. Data as of 2026-09-06.

Findings from the data
The price in the advertisement buys the cheapest variant. How far above it every range tops out, and which badges stretch furthest.
Airbags and driver assistance come in grades, not yes or no. What the market charges to climb each grade, and who charges nothing.
Nobody sells you a sunroof, they sell you the trim it lives in. The cheapest variant that brings one, and what else it makes you buy.
Same trim, same engine, two pedals or three: the price of the gearbox across every car that offers you the choice.
One car, every state we can verify: the on-road gap runs to lakhs. Recomputed with every data update, so it never goes stale.
The licence, in one sentence
Free to use, share and build on, including commercially, with attribution: credit VariantWise and link to https://variantwise.com. Formally it is CC BY 4.0, so commercial use, republication and derived work are all fine. A working credit line: “Data: VariantWise, variantwise.com”.
Where the numbers come from
Every price and specification traces to a source, and when sources disagree the manufacturer’s own site wins, always. Road tax rates carry the instrument they were read from, a confidence grade and the date they were verified. Where we could not verify a figure, it is absent rather than guessed: an empty field is a fact about what we know. The full method is on how we rank.
What is not in here
Car photography, because the images are the manufacturers’ property and not ours to license. And nothing invented: if a state or a figure is missing, that is the dataset being honest with you.
