Split by what the car runs on, and measured the same way, it comes out at 4% to 21% on the petrol cars, 8% to 24% on the one diesel car, 8% to 24% on the one plug-in hybrid car and 1% to 15% on the electric cars.

None of it includes insurance. Comprehensive cover is priced by your insurer and your no claim bonus rather than by any state, so take that number from a real quote and add it to these.
