Our take

The real reason to pay ₹1.02L more for the Punch EV Empowered Plus S: 360° camera, single-pane sunroof and ventilated front seats. The useful extras on top: connected car tech and vehicle-to-load (V2L). The rest of the additions are minor trim. At that price, we would stretch.

  • The Punch EV is electric, so it will be the cheapest of these to run
  • Also on the Punch EV Empowered Plus S: drive modes, rear parking camera, wired CarPlay / Android Auto and driver display (10.25" digital against 7" digital), and some minor trim beyond that
  • Going to the Punch EV Empowered Plus S, you give up tyre pressure monitor and headlamps (LED projector against Halogen), which the BasaltX Turbo Plus keeps
Choose the Citroen BasaltX Turbo Plus if
You would rather keep the ₹1.02L than pay for kit you will not miss
Choose the Tata Punch EV Empowered Plus S if
You will do long stints in this car and want the daily comforts
