Our take

The real reason to pay ₹1.59L more for the Punch EV Empowered Plus S: 360° camera, single-pane sunroof and ventilated front seats. The useful extras on top: touchscreen (10.25" against 7") and wireless CarPlay / Android Auto. The rest of the additions are minor trim. At that price, we would stretch.

  • The Punch EV is electric, so it will be the cheapest of these to run
  • Also on the Punch EV Empowered Plus S: connected car tech, vehicle-to-load (V2L), drive modes and rear parking camera, and some minor trim beyond that
  • Going to the Punch EV Empowered Plus S, you give up tyre pressure monitor, headlamps (LED projector against Halogen) and speakers (6 against 4), which the Taigun Comfortline keeps
Choose the Volkswagen Taigun Comfortline if
You would rather keep the ₹1.59L than pay for kit you will not miss
Choose the Tata Punch EV Empowered Plus S if
You will do long stints in this car and want the daily comforts
