Road tax and registration add between 2% and 24% on top of the showroom price, depending on which car and which state. That is measured across all 12 cars Toyota sells here, in the 25 states we can price them in, from each state's own schedule rather than from a rule of thumb.

Split by what the car runs on, and measured the same way, it comes out at 4% to 24% on the petrol cars, 7% to 24% on the diesel cars, 5% to 21% on the CNG cars, 6% to 24% on the hybrid cars and 2% to 16% on the one electric car.
